Inspired by the ceilings of Lincolnshire’s Burghley House and by the History degree she had started, Jean was 70 when she began stitching. From memories of the household bath to the Cuban missile crisis, the moon landings and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, the tapestry brings the richness of an ‘ordinary’ British woman’s existence to life.
